Trump’s Draft Picks
Elon and Vivek to trim the fat, Elise to bully the UN, Tom Homan to get the border under control, and more.
President-elect Donald Trump made several more cabinet announcements last night, beginning with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to run a new Department of Government Efficiency, abbreviated DOGE, because of course. Their job will be to hunt down ways to cut government spending and end the fraud, waste, and abuse of taxpayer funds.
Other picks include:
Pete Hegseth for the Department of Defense. Democrats like Faux-cahontas Warren are trying to discount Pete’s experience by referring to him as the “Fox News host.” However, Pete is a former Major with the Minnesota Army National Guard who has served tours in Gitmo, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
Kristi Noem for DHS. Trump’s announcement highlighted Kristi’s role in supporting Texas in the fight to control the border as his justification for this pick. Dana wrote her thoughts about this pick earlier.
John Ratcliffe as CIA director. John was previously Trump’s Director of National Intelligence. This one was a bit of a surprise, as most people were expecting Trump to name Kash Patel to the role, but rumor has it Kash is headed to the FBI.
William Joseph McGinley as White House Counsel. McGinley previously served as the White House Cabinet Secretary during Trump’s first term.
Steven Witkoff as Special Envoy to the Middle East. Witkoff is a friend, donor, and golf buddy of the President. While he may not have official diplomatic experience, the Jewish businessman has decades of experience closing deals as a real estate investor. He was known to be a link between Trump and the Jewish business community.
Mike Huckabee as Ambassador to Israel. The former governor of Arkansas is a long-time friend of Israel.
Rep. Mike Waltz as National Security Advisor. The Florida Congressman is the first Green Beret to be elected to Congress. His 27-year career in the military is impressive. He’s also married to Trump’s former United States Homeland Security Advisor, Dr. Julia Nesheiwat.
Rep Elise Stefanik as UN Ambassador. As Dana said yesterday, this is a good fit for her.
Lee Zeldin for EPA Administrator. The former NY Congressman has been tasked with streamlining the agency and getting rid of as many regulations as possible.
Tom Homan as the “Border Czar.” ‘nuff said.
Rumors say that Marco Rubio will be Secretary of State, but Donald Trump has not confirmed that yet. However, Trump has made it crystal clear that Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo will have no role in his new government. RFK Jr will likely be named to Health and Human Services, or a similar position.
Speaking of RFK Jr, he launched a website for us to nominate people for the President’s Cabinet. It is unclear if Donald will pay any attention to it, but it is fun. For instance, as of this moment, Brandon Herrera, aka TheAKguy, is the leading candidate for the ATF position. Brandon has promised that if he is chosen, he will do everything in his power to dismantle the ATF from within while donating his salary to no-kill dog shelters.
Lorraine Yuriar is a wife, mother, and lifelong conservative, currently stuck in a very blue state.
I have another comment and question. Did President Elect Donald J. Trump (how I love saying that) pick former Minnesota Army National Guard Major Pete Hegseth as a dig against Tim Walz? I think its funny personally although I am sure he will do an excellent job.
Sound like a good things will be coming.
