Doris Kearns Goodwin's documentary on FDR is good, Dana. I know you don't like FDR, I don't either, in fact my Mother, who lived thru WWII, and my Father who fought in Europe, hated the man. But this documentary is well done, and informative. Thank you for posting Patton's speech. We should never forget the price that was paid for our freedom.

I absolutely loved that speech! Considering all the carnage, but resilience, of the men who exited those boats to a barrage of German gunfire at Normandy on D-Day, this was the only speech they should have heard; from the one and only George S. Patton! What a man!
Patton Speech. My Dad a college history professor of 49 years would applaud you for posting speech, we’re he still here. He was a Jeffersonian, and a staunch supporter of the constitution. Thank you for reminded us of important spots in history. great job.
You had mentioned that there are some books you would recommend. I have searched and do not see them listed. Which books do you recommend for D day?
I knew a man that served in the 3rd Army. Also knew a man who survived the Battan Death March. True heroes.
I fear Patton has rolled in his grave of recent times. We don’t have a Patton anymore. I do thank God we did have George when we did.
