Vapid, Hollywood, and the ICC

Miles wide and inches deep.

The pro-Hamas sludge of humanity celebrated upon learning that George Clooney’s wife was one of the lawyers advising the International Criminal Court to seek a warrant against Israel’s leaders for the “war crime” of defending themselves from rapist paragliders on October 7th.

“Such a brilliant move!” cried Hamas stooges on X. Is it?

Amal Clooney (née Alamuddin) is a PR operative, reported junior counsel in her mid-forties who hasn’t led a case yet. No shame, women are free to pursue their choices but describe those who lead cases as world class barristers because they lead cases, not because they marry Hollywood actors. Accomplished? Yes, but no Blackstone.

Her daily driver bag and shoes typically cost more than the GDP of the downtrodden demos she occasionally represents as a “human rights lawyer” — word salad legal vagueness that can mean whatever you want it to mean as an additional application to your respective field of law. It’s a buzz phrase to elevate regular Hollywood types to holier-than-thou levels. She began with entertainment law at NYU for a year.

Clooney’s cousin is an arms dealer (more here and here) and notorious blind item website Crazy Days and Nights (legendary for greater accuracy than the mainstream press) accuses her family of selling arms to Iran’s Hamas and Hezbollah. Sure, she’s not her family, but when you advise an anti-Semitic thug international court trying to exert influence without standing, you are asking the public to consider such associations.

Clooney spoke strong words when advocating for women (Yazidi women targeted by ISIS) in Texas back in 2016:

“The worst thing that we can do as women is not stand up for each other … I’m ashamed as a woman that girls like Nadia can today have their bodies sold and used as battlefields, and I’m ashamed as a woman that we ignore their cries for help.” 

How fast thing change. Eight years later, the cries of Israeli women being raped to death by Hamas, their children shoved into ovens, their bodies obliterated, don’t matter because failed Arab welfare colonist project Hamas is the culprit and they’re protected by the international community.

Israel is not a signatory to the Rome statute that established the ICC. It’s like the French government trying to effect French law in the United States. It’s nothing more than toothless waste, a stunt for a leading actor’s wife to add to her shiny CV to offset the jet-setting vapidness, red carpets, mansions, and millions — none of which she’s offered to share with the refugees in Rafah. The irony.
