Tuesday Run Down: Media, Biden, Pelosi doubles down on incitement
What you need to know to start your week
The next media narrative
Yesterday evening the media went apoplectic over Trump saying something they’ve expressed before:
It isn’t “unprecedented.” Not at all. I went to school in southern Missouri and even I learned about this in class.
In fact, here is Dwight D. Eisenhower’s original speech, wherein he coined the term “military industrial complex” and essentially said the exact same thing:
The left only opposes wars or any military engagement when a Republican leads them. They were prepared to be anti-war again, a big talking point for them, until Trump was elected. Trump has consistently opposed nation-building and endless wars so now the left has pivoted from anti-war to war pigs.
Generals gathered in their masses,
Just like witches at black masses
That’s the problem though, isn’t it? The left yearns for a war they can control, a monkey-making operation, one from which the reap the dividends.
No, Trump didn’t malign vets (last week’s narrative)
The press isn’t even trying anymore … or are they? (More on that in a minute.) First, the claims are ludicrous. Secondly, Trump may be too uncomfortably forthright for some, but The Atlantic’s claim that Trump maligned vets by calling them “losers” is too much even for some of his enemies to believe — or the originator of the story to even vouch for 100%. Even John Bolton countered this false narrative.
Ask yourself who values the lives and contributions of service members more: The admin that has kept us out of never-ending wars, reduced our welfare for NATO states that refused to contribute to their own defense, all while improving foreign relations and regard for the U.S. — or the party that used hearses with dead service members as props during their grief theater wherein they blamed free speech for a 2012 terror attack?
But are the press trying? This was an interesting Tweet I came across. Most everyone has heard about this story but no one with more than one brain cell actual believes it. Maybe that is the point, though: saturate the airwaves with this bogus story (that everyone who had firsthand knowledge of denies ever happening) to push the riots and violence down further in the rank of newsworthiness.
Charlotte Alter @CharlotteAlterIt's also worth noting that, in the case the "losers" comment specifically, it's very possible that people just haven't heard about this yet and that's why I'm not hearing them mention it! Sometimes it takes a couple days for news to percolate.

Here’s what Burn Loot Murder did over the weekend
Meanwhile Kamala Harris met with Jacob Blake’s family in Wisconsin and said she was “proud” of him. But what about Blake’s victim, the one who accused him of sexual assault, the one who called the cops in the first place because Blake was violating the reported restraining order she had against him? I keep asking this question, have asked it for weeks, and media nor Democrats give any answers.
Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi triples down on her “enemies” rhetoric
Yet Trump says fake news is the enemy of the people and the press falls all over themselves to present it as Trump trying to incite violence.
Headlines I’m watching going into this week
Trump won Florida by more than one point four years ago and a state Democrats were unable to carry in 2018, when they lost both the governor and senate races. That year, the RCP polling average predicted Florida Democrat Andrew Gillum would win by 3.6 points. He in fact lost narrowly to Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. The RCP polling average predicted Democrat Bill Nelson would win by 2.4. He lost to Rick Scott narrowly. Those polling averages were less off than the final result mostly because Trafalgar called the race correctly.
The latest Quinnipiac poll shows a 10-point momentum in Florida toward Trump, where he trails within the margin of error, and where Trafalgar has the president ahead by three points. (For what it’s worth, Trafalgar was the only pollster to correctly poll key states in the 2016 and 2018 races.)
-> Show this to your family who think mail-in voting is safe: Surveillance video shows bags of mail being dumped in California spa’s parking lot:
It was the second reported incident — outside 7Q Spa Laser & Aesthetics — where surveillance video captured the moment a rented truck dumped bags of unopened mail and took off.
“It happened early in the morning, 5:40, and it was a Budget rental — big truck — that backed up to the parking lot. And they’re like, slowly, one by one, they’re dropping the packages,” Lilia Serobian, one of the medical spa’s owners, said.
She said the “huge pile” contained various sizes of packages — all of it U.S. mail.

Josh Jordan @NumbersMuncherThe only entity trusted less than Donald Trump regarding COVID is the national media. Congratulations, everyone! https://t.co/Flp7OZ9fWX

Coming up this week
This week I’ll start including polling and headlines from the most contested battleground states and districts in the country. My conservative Texas county in particular is in a brawl, mostly of its own doing, as the thousands of voters who stayed home in 2016 are reaping the consequences of that inaction. As a result, you will see this included in every email — remember what I’ve said for nearly a decade now: if Texas falls, Republicans won’t win the White House again. And if the most conservative district in Texas falls, that’s the proverbial canary in the coal mine.
Stephen Yates joins me today to discuss China and more; later this week Former First Lt. Clint Lorance joins me.
I’m live on air across the country in the next 40 minutes.
