Trump's Power Move Over the Strait of Hormuz
I discussed this on air today and said I would send it out in tomorrow’s prep, but I really feel that it deserves its own piece today, especially considering that Trump just announced that the U.S. Navy will provide protection to ships sailing through the Strait of Hormuz after Iranian officials threatened to set fire to any vessel that attempts to pass. (*To add — this wouldn’t be the first time. We also did it with Kuwaiti tankers in the 80s with Operation Earnest Will.)
London’s historic insurance and reinsurance marketplace, Lloyd’s, announced earlier that they (along with other insurers) are canceling war risk coverage for vessels and dramatically increasing pricing following the Iran strikes:
