Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister, nominated by Trump as his new DEA chief, has announced he will not seek the position and instead stay in Hillsborough County.
This was a bad pick no matter how it’s sliced. Chronister was one of the harsher enforcers of the magical lockdown era — when everyone was bullied by government officials to stay in our homes under threat of penalty. You could go out only for “essential services,” like groceries or liquor (essential, apparently), but not to Sunday church services. Worshipping Jesus was “reckless.”
Chronister detailed, in a now deleted page, the arrest of Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne, of The River at Tampa Bay Church, for violating stay-at-home orders by holding a church service:
“His reckless disregard for human life put hundreds of people in his congregation at risk and thousands of residents who may interact with them this week in danger,” said Sheriff Chronister.
Chronister was also reportedly a big trans advocate, fought against collaborating with ICE in removing illegal aliens, loved pumping wokery, and is a huge proponent of red flag laws. The strict regulations were kept in place for two years in Chronister’s county, even after the “science was known” by those who should’ve already known in the first place.
No one who participated in this charade — or in the removal of our Constitutional rights (more on Pam Bondi soon) — should be elevated to greater positions of power once they proved they would abuse the power they had and excuse it with “just following orders.”
It’s good he’s now out of consideration, but the entire ridiculous agency that is the failed DEA still exists.
It’s selections like this that keep the swamp alive
Thanks Dana and crew for all of your research and hard work 🙌🏻💪🏻
