This Needs To Stop
SCOTUS needs to step in and enforce limitations on District Courts's power.
Thursday afternoon, April 24th, Judge William Orrick, an Obama appointee, barred the Trump administration from withholding federal money from sanctuary cities. The crazy part is, this isn’t the first time this judge has done this. Judge Orrick blocked a similar executive order back in 2017.
On January 25, 2017, Trump issued an executive order that declared sanctuary cities in violation of federal law, thus ineligible for federal money. Four different lawsuits were filed. It took the various cases almost four years to get through the appeals process.
