The public spat between Elon Musk and President Trump has gotten so bad that even Kanye is begging them to stop:
It all happened incredibly fast. Reminder that this was just a week ago:
There is a an art to disagreeing and remaining united as a coalition and the right has yet to figure it out. We have the party (GOP) and the coalition (GOP + conservatives/Constitutionalists, Libertarians, independents) and they are not the same, though they have amnesty y of the same goals.
It’s a fragile coalition and the left knows it. However, they weren’t the ones that pushed the right here, the right did it by themselves by taking the bait. The bait? Responding to every little media utterance about reported disagreements on the right. Magnifying said reporting on disagreements by insisting on offering up a hot take, a response, a reaction.
The left has wanted Trump’s scalp for years now and now Musk’s, too. They know Musk is a lynchpin in the coalition and if they can't take down Trump or Musk individually, they will take the alliance and with it the first domino in the coalition.
Blind loyalty has no place in a free republic. People are free to agree and disagree on the merits of the issues. This nation was built on criticizing its lawmakers and airing grievances with policy. The people who don't understand these concepts are as great a threat to this republic as the legacy press and identity politic left they purport to oppose.
I’d prefer if leaders took up these objections with one another privately, but we live in a society that rewards any flex online, no matter how petty or ridiculous. I’d add that you don’t have to pick a “side” and you should ignore the hyperbole from breathless, clickwhore dramatists who demand that you do. It’s not your responsibility to mend bridges for anyone or defend them like hired mercenaries, it’s the elected official and leader’s job to do that, it’s why they’re leaders.
The bottom line is that there are a lot of things we wouldn’t have without either man. I hope they work it out, but if they don’t, everybody better learn how to coexist. There are bigger fish to fry.
I’ll discuss this a bit more on Fox tonight within the next hour and tomorrow on my program.
Season Finale of MAGA. I've felt it all day long. So disappointed that the two men who led that triumphant march to victory on November 5, 2024 seem to be handing it over with taunts and jibes--out loud. and posted for the world to see. Happy to read that we don't have to take a side, because I don't think I could. So sad. Interested in your visit with Fox. Guess we'll just wait for the other shoe to drop.
Not all MAGA supporters support the BBB. Dana has said she one who doesn't. Elon said he didn't see the bill; thou Trump thinks he did. So, there's problem, misstep on Trump. With the disagreement aside, congress needs to cut the spending. Bidens admin have spent enough of our money to last 3-4 generation. No tax on SS, No Tax on Overtime, IMO would help the working class a lot.
