Spare Us: Leave Jeremy Clarkson Alone

Harry Me-gain's goal to cancel Clarkson is a poor substitute for their failed bid to cancel Harry's family

Watch Clarkson's Farm – Season 1 | Prime Video

I became a fan of all things Jeremy Clarkson during lockdown when I began watching “Top Gear.” After seeing every episode I next became a fan of “Grand Tour,” and then his hysterical Green Acres-inspired series “Clarkson’s Farm,” which inadvertently taught me more about the ridiculous restrictions on British farming than I’d ever known. Clarkson has long been a commentator on all things everything, not just auto, animal husbandry, or farming, so it wasn’t unusual when he recently penned an editorial on the notoriously whiny couple Harry and Meghan.

Clarkson wrote that he was “dreaming of the day when she [Meghan] is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, 'Shame!' and throw lumps of excrement at her.” Anyone familiar with “Game of Thrones” knows he was describing the Cersei’s “walk of atonement” scene and anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together knows Clarkson was engaging in his usual hyperbole. Mr. and Mrs. Spare-Us who saw it as an opportunity to further decelerate their growing irrelevancy and play victims again.

Clarkson apologized and I don’t know why. You can read it on his Instagram account here. Maybe he felt pulled to do so because his daughter complained about his column, but he needn’t have bothered because Spare-Us haughtily refused his apology, eager to shove it out to their egregiously overly-manicured spokesman to wring even more attention from the nothingburger.

On December 25, 2022, Mr. Clarkson wrote solely to Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex. The contents of his correspondence were marked Private and Confidential.

While a new public apology has been issued today by Mr. Clarkson, what remains to be addressed is his long standing pattern of writing articles that spread hate rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories, and misogyny. Unless each of his other pieces were also written “in a hurry”, as he states, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident shared in haste, but rather a series of articles shared in hate.

The actress, Mrs. Spare-Us, who gave a main character a BJ on "90201" and was only credited as "hot girl" wants to lecture Clarkson on "spreading dangerous misogyny" while rejecting an apology neither she nor her husband merited. The duo have recently demanded that everyone apologize them, from Britain’s royal family, to anyone who never gave them exactly what they demanded the second they demanded it. And why not? They seem like such lovely people (video).

Now this from Amazon: Amazon Likely to Part Ways With Jeremy Clarkson After Final Commissioned Shows Go to Air; ‘Grand Tour’ Host Sent Email Apology to Harry & Meghan

Sources tell Variety that the streaming service won’t be working with Clarkson beyond seasons of “The Grand Tour” and “Clarkson’s Farm” that have already been commissioned. This means that the notorious “Top Gear” presenter likely won’t be appearing in any new shows on Prime Video beyond 2024 (though there’s every chance a final “Grand Tour” episode could carry over into 2025).

Prime Video already has a number of shows in the works with Clarkson, which are going to go ahead, but the decision effectively means that “Clarkson’s Farm” will end with Season 3 (expected in 2024). It also means that motoring format “The Grand Tour,” one of Prime Video’s biggest shows, will also come to an end. Variety understands the series will conclude after four more special episodes — the last of which is expected to land in late 2024.

When the cancel-culture mob demands an apology, they don’t actually want an apology, they want fealty and destruction. There is no hope for grace no chance for redemption, you’re forever canceled and it’s usually for something far less worse than anything the mob itself has done. For instance: the gall of Nazi-cosplaying, racial slur-using Harry thinking he’s too good to accept an apology over a tongue-in-cheek editorial.

The Spare-Us duo have been criticized by everyone from BLM to Nelson Mandela’s granddaughter for trading on race to further themselves. The pair show no interest in fostering unity, they peddle division for their own professional advancement, create oddly-named groups like “Archewell” that don’t seem to do anything beyond pose as dollar-store philanthropy, and produce meandering podcasts that confuse the word “archetype” with “stereotype.” The most hysterical irony is that Harry’s book isn’t selling because of his merit as a good writer or storyteller, it’s selling simply because he was born into the royal family. For someone who makes such a spectacle of leaving royalty (let’s face it, he never wanted to leave, he wanted to franchise it, was denied, and he and his privileged wide threw a tantrum), he more eagerly trades on his titles and position for money more than any of them.

There is zero woke redeeming value to catering to two of the most “privileged” people to ever walk the earth, especially at the expense of good-natured and actually talented Brits we like better. Americans fought and won a war to disregard the monarchy so shrugging off Spare-Us and Me-gain are nothing in comparison.

Dana, you are so spot on and funny when it comes to describing these 2 people! Out of the few times I watched 'Top Gear' Jeremy Clarkson was my favorite; It is very telling that Amazon will not instantly yank his programs, but will show them because they will still make money from them. If they were truly on the woke mob's side they would just pay Clarkson for his troubles and be done with it, but no, they are hypocrites to the max just like Spare-us and Me-gain.
