Shots Fired at Mar-a-Lago
Secret Service fired at a suspicious person, and an AK-47 was found in the bushes, the suspect was later apprehended by local law enforcement.
At about 1:30 PM Eastern, shots rang out on the Mar-a-Lago course, where the former President was spending his Sunday getting in a round of golf. Trump’s campaign quickly released a statement saying that Donald was fine.
Initial reports said it was just a couple of dudes in a shootout near the golf course, and Trump was secured as a precaution. But as information came out, it was revealed that this was likely yet another assassination attempt on Donald Trump’s life, only two months after the last one at Butler, PA.
What we know so far:
Trump was on hole 5 of the Trump International Golf Course, West Palm Beach, aka Mar-a-Lago’s golf course. While scouting the course ahead, a Secret Service agent spotted a rifle barrel poking through the bushes near hole 6. The agent opened fire. According to a description given to Sean Hannity by Steve Witkoff, four shots were fired.
Apparently, the Agent’s shots only scared off the would-be assassin, who dropped his gun, jumped into a black Nissan SUV, and fled the scene. Thankfully, a witness was able to get the license plate, and the suspect was later apprehended alive by Martin County Sheriffs on RT 95. The sheriff said he “had a calm, flat demeanor and showed little emotion when he was stopped,” and did not question why he was being pulled over.
Law Enforcement found the suspect’s “nest,” which consisted of two bags zip-tied to the fence along with a GoPro camera aimed at the golf course. They also recovered an “AK-style” weapon with a mounted scope from the bushes.
The suspect was identified as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh.
Routh, a former construction worker from Greensboro, NC, moved to Hawaii in 2018 to build tiny houses in an attempt to fight the homelessness he claimed was caused by gentrification. When the war in Ukraine broke out, he fashioned himself a mercenary. In 2023, he was interviewed by the New York Times. At the time, he claimed to have tens of thousands of NATO-trained Afghan soldiers ready to parachute into whatever conflict needed help at the moment - Ukraine, Haiti, or Taiwan. All he needed was visas and gear. The NYT cheekily reported that only one Afghan said he’d ever been contacted.
Routh also used his social media to lobby various bands to make songs for Ukraine and even doxxed his wife and son, as well as published his personal phone number multiple times.
Do not let the media fool you into thinking that he was a Republican because he posted that he once voted for Trump.
That does not sound like someone who likes Trump. He has also donated to Democrats, and Democrats only. He is still registered to vote in NC as an unaffiliated voter. However, he voted in the Democratic primary this year. He also tried to convince Nikki Haley and Vivek to form a joint ticket and take down Trump.
When he wasn’t trying to offer Afghan soldiers to Ukraine or begging musicians to make Ukranian Tribute songs, he was offering Joe and Kamala political advice to help them beat Trump.
Meanwhile, according to Sean Hannity, who spoke with Trump after the event, Trump’s first response was to make sure everyone was okay.
“When the president found out everybody was safe and nobody had been harmed. I guess in typical ‘fight, fight, fight’ fashion, Trump said to Steve, and then he related to me, ‘ugh I really wanted to finish the hole I was even and I had a I had a birdie putt and it was it was on the fifth,’ it was on the fifth hole, which shows a lot of, I think, guts and gumption and very Trumpian, I guess, in every way,” said Hannity.

I firmly believe the Democrat Party should change its name to more properly reflect its true philosophy. Since they are the party of death, destruction, lies, chaos, insanity and delusion a more fitting name would be The Degenerate Party. These people are trying to claim Trump's "rhetoric" justified this attempt on his life. That is like saying an attempted rape is because the victim's manner of dress was the cause and she should think about what she is wearing.
