"Revenge" of the AARP Hippies

When did old Woodstock-era hippies become so bossy and mean? When did they become stans for The Man, man?

David Crosby has never once listened to Joe Rogan’s podcast and couldn't articulate what he finds “misinforming” from it if he tried. Same for Graham Nash, Elvira, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen’s guitarist, or any of the other Early Bird Special crowd demanding that Spotify suppress speech or they’ll cancel themselves.

Think about that for a moment: These AARP hippies are demanding that a business engage in corporate censorship because the creator of a podcast they don’t listen to was identified as wrongthink for having too much discussion.

These people neither have the right nor modern cultural influence influence to demand that others make them comfortable in their beliefs by eliminating any challenge, anywhere, to those beliefs. I only know Joni Mitchell from her song about parking lots sampled by artists on MTV in the 90s; Crosby, Stills, and Nash because an uncle would play them during family bar-be-cues and then Crosby because sort-of Melissa Etheridge’s baby daddy; I only know Elvira because of boobs and the Oak Ridge Boys*.

I don’t mean to be ageist — but after multiple younger generations paused their lives and screwed up their futures to protect the most vulnerable among us — the oldest, mainly their generation — these anti-speech Skeksis have no right to set asinine limitations on what we can or cannot discuss. Theirs — specifically the lefties — is the generation that voted for endless wars, endless debt, bigger government, nationalized finance of education, and made housing unaffordable for younger generations through heinous monetary policies. These leftie, hippie, boomers drove up the divorce rate and drove apart families. They invented the mullet and turned macrame into a home good.

I hope they all take their entire catalogs from Spotify with them. I will not interrupt their self-canceling seppuku.
