Late Sunday, President Joe Biden reminded the world he was still President and pardoned his son Hunter. The pardon covers Hunter for anything he may have done between 2014 - 2024, “including but not limited to” the things he was charged with.
The statement Joe put out with the pardon reads as one of the least self-aware statements I’ve seen in a very long time. He claims that Hunter was “selectively and unfairly prosecuted” because he is Joe’s son. He mentions that most people aren’t even prosecuted for wrongfully filling out the 4473. Stats from 2019 (the latest available) show that out of 478 potential cases of lying on the 4473, only 298 were referred to prosecution. That’s a 62% prosecution rate. That number seems like most of the cases are referred to prosecution.
Joe also said, “Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions.” Ignoring the fact that Hunter didn’t pay his back taxes, his “sugar brother” Kevin Morris did, Joe is likely correct. The IRS typically places a higher priority on getting paid than prosecuting people. Most people aren’t aware that if you get yourself into trouble and get behind on your taxes, you can negotiate with the IRS.
The absolute audacity of the current President, whose DOJ had spent millions of taxpayer dollars trying to take out President Trump, to say that Hunter’s charges only came about because Republicans complained and that the plea deal only blew up because the GOP intervened.
As a refresher, that “carefully negotiated plea deal” blew up because Judge Norieka smelled something fishy. She had misgivings about a plea that allowed a person to make restitution in one case in exchange for charges being dropped in another. When pressed, Hunter ran his mouth and made it clear that this plea deal was essentially an immunity deal, and he wouldn’t be allowed to be charged for anything else he’d done, like the pay-to-play scheme or potential FARA violations. The judge ended the deal.
“No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son – and that is wrong. There has been an effort to break Hunter – who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution,” writes Joe. One could very reasonably argue that Joe’s DOJ went after Donald Trump solely because he is Donald Trump. There has definitely been a concerted effect to break, not just Donald, but the whole Trump family with unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution.
Joe continues, “For my entire career I have followed a simple principle: just tell the American people the truth.” Sure, Jan. You’ve been “just telling us the truth” for the last several months when you said you would not pardon your son. Biden has been repeatedly called out for his lies by everyone from the Oversight Committee to the Heritage Foundation, even the New York Times called him out.
He lied about not pardoning his son for months. This was always the plan all along. I knew he was going to do this. You knew he was going to do this. The whole world knew he was going to pardon Hunter. However, the complete lack of any semblance of self-awareness in his statement that justifies his action is stunning. But of course, what else would we expect from a man who, despite claiming to be fit enough for office, has already been adjudicated too mush-brained to stand trial?

You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.

A wicked man accepts a bribe behind the back To pervert the ways of justice.

Another example of the Democrats doing what they accuse the Republicans of doing. Who weaponized the Justice Department??? hummmm The Biden's are slimy freaks.
