Kamala's Trainwreck Interview
Just over 26 minutes, with a friendly journo, and she still managed to screw the whole thing up.
The human-equivalent-of-I-need-to-fill-my-word-count and her theater-kid-who-never-got-the-lead-and-is-trying-to-make-the-most-of-his-time-in-the-spotlight sidekick finally sat down for an interview with the friendliest possible choice, CNN’s Dana (pronounced Dan-ah) Bash.
CNN, in a move that seems to be aimed at milking as much YouTube monetization as possible, posted the interview in three parts (here’s a playlist), as well as a transcript that may help us understand the word salad.
Dana Bash opened by asking Kamala what she would do on Day 1. It’s a basic campaign question, but Kamala doesn’t have a straight answer. All she can do is offer a bunch of platitudes about helping the middle class. DB seems a bit confused, as this should be an easy lay-up, and turns to Timpon Walz. He offered his version of word salad and said Kamala’s proposal would be great. The only thing either of them mentions specifically is the idea of a new version of the existing child tax credit that would only give parents of newborns a $6000 credit in year one.
DB brought up Kamala’s campaign slogan, “Not going back,” and said that many Americans want to go back to days of low inflation, affordable homes, and cheaper groceries under Trump. Kamala responded by blaming “Trump’s Pandemic mismanagement” for the loss of jobs and inflation. She said fighting price-gouging and giving away $25,000 to first-time homebuyers will fix inflation.
However, even CNN said that Kamala’s plan to use price-fixing for groceries would only cause shortages. This plan of hers is so bad that many democrats are already assuring their constituents that it would never pass Congress. As for the money for first-time home buyers, not only will it not fix the problem, it will likely add to it by artificially inflating home prices.
