A killer strolled into a Manhattan skyscraper earlier this evening and opened fire, killing five innocent people. He’s been identified, though nothing yet on motive as the investigation is clearly ongoing. I’ll touch on the importance of the rifle in a moment.
CNN immediately speculated that the killer was “possibly white:”

Race shouldn’t even be a focus, but with the American Pravda, it’s the game.
Here’s my question — though it’s hard to tell from the grainy, blurry image of him casually walking through Midtown in broad daylight with a rifle, this doesn’t look like a SAFE Act compliant rifle. New York’s infamous gun control law, the SAFE Act, requires fixed stocks, fixed mags, no scopes, no grips, no anything. At first glance this isn’t a compliant rifle. So he either brought it with him from Nevada, where he reportedly possessed an outdated concealed carry permit, or he obtained it on the black market. Either way, not compliant.
Why is this important? Because New York has every gun control law you could dream up, every law meant to disarm innocents, laws that criminals routinely disregard by nature of their being criminals. Another gun control law failed and people lost their lives.
