Everything We Know About the Trump Assassination Attempt: Separating Fact from Fiction

USSS Dir. Cheatle's lies and misinformation did not help to tamp down the conspiracies.

The drips and drabs of information coming out only create more confusion and chaos surrounding the attempted assassination of the former president and current GOP nominee. As for the former President’s health, his doctor has said that “the bullet track produced a 2 cm wide wound that extended down to the cartilaginous surface of the ear. There was initially significant bleeding, followed by marked swelling of the entire upper ear.” The swelling has since gone down. If anyone is curious about how this could happen, or what it may have looked or felt like, Brandon Herrera did a video with High Speed Ballistics to demonstrate what President Trump likely felt. As for the event:

Timeline so far:

• Eight months before the rally, shooter attended a class meant to improve his aim.

• The day before, he went to the range to practice. He also went to Home Depot and bought a ladder, then stopped off to buy some ammo.

• Went to work to ask for the day off.

• Parked about a third of a mile away and biked into the area. He was spotted acting suspiciously at the scanners leading into the event. Reports say he got into the event and possibly scoped out USSS positions before leaving.

• He may have sent up a drone to scope out the area.

• It is still unknown exactly how he got his weapon into the area. Early reports said he went back to his car, which was rigged with a “rudimentary explosive,” to retrieve the backpack with a weapon in it. Sources in the Secret Service are now telling the media that, at some unknown point, he hid the firearm near the A/C units attached to the AGR building.

• is seen in footage from inside the rally, walking around the AGR building outside the rally.

• Climbs up some A/C units and onto the roof. Possibly assembles the gun on the roof.

• USSS spotted him on the roof 20 minutes before the shooting started. (Maybe they thought he was a fan trying to get a better view?)

• Is spotted with a gun by the crowd from the bar. They try flagging down some local PD in the area and start screaming, waving, and pointing to try to get the Secret Service snipers's attention.

• South-facing sniper team repositions and faces North 3 minutes before the shooting. This lines up with the videos of the bar crowd on the ground by the AGR building freaking out and trying to get law enforcement’s attention.

• A couple of local PD officers are flagged down by the bar crowd. They leave their post to investigate. One hoists the other up to see onto the roof. The shooter aimed at the local PD officer, who, because he was using both hands to try to pull up to the roof, could not defend himself. The officer let go and dropped 8 feet back to the ground.

• The shooter whips around and takes his first shot, narrowly missing the President.

• The shooter continues to fire, hitting Corey Comperatore in the head as he covers his family, instantly killing him. He also hits David Dutch twice, in the chest and liver (David summons his inner Marine and walks himself out of the rally area before getting life-flighted to the hospital), and the 74-year-old James Copenhaven. Grazes at least one other attendee. Fires about 8-10 shots.

• Local PD sniper (location unknown) fires a few times but misses. (This explains why the FBI said they had a local pd gun in custody as well as the shooter’s and the sniper’s weapons.)

• South USSS sniper team neutralizes the threat. 26 seconds after the first shot was fired.

• Trump is ushered off the stage and into his car by the Secret Service and the Fumbling Fumbelinas.

• Local PD is seen on video trying to break through the fence to get to the AGR building and secure the body.

• July 23, three minutes of body cam was released.

Motive:

So far, unclear, however:

• Mother is a Democrat. Dad is a Libertarian/GOP.

• The guy donated to a shady Democratic-aligned PAC but was registered as a Republican. However, his name wasn’t on the list of registered Republicans given to a local canvasser. A Democratic County Councilman said he canvassed the house every time.

• A high school classmate said the shooter didn’t like Trump or any politician really.

• He had also recently searched for information on “major depressive disorder,” however, his parents, both licensed counselors, said there was no evidence of mental problems.

• The shooter had photos of both Biden and Trump on his phone and had recently looked up their schedules. He also had photos of DA Fani Willis, FBI Director Wray, and Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales.

• While he left almost no social media footprint, an unused Discord account was discovered, and an eerie message was left on his Steam account. “July 13 will be my premiere, watch as it unfolds.”

• The FBI found three encrypted messaging apps on his devices. They are still working on getting into the accounts.

• Experts are now suggesting that the shooter was just looking for a convenient, high-value target. Trump’s rally just happened to be the opening he was looking for, and the USSS security lapse gave him the window of opportunity he wanted.

• There have been rumors that the shooter was trans. This is FALSE. A trans-person with similar features who goes by “Rose” was falsely identified as the shooter. “Rose” posted a photo with a date long after the event to prove that it wasn’t him/her/zir/whatever.

  

Aftermath:

• Shooter’s father called the cops to report his son missing. Some media are reporting the call was before the shooting, others say it was after.

• Shooter’s classmates claimed he was bullied in high school (duh, just look at his yearbook photos; of course, he was bullied) and tried out for the rifle club, but was rejected for being a poor shot. The high school in question pushed back, claiming they had no record of any bullying (not surprising; school admin rarely knows about this stuff) and no record of him trying to join the rifle club.

• After Cheatle initially claimed that the local PD was supposed to be on the roof and then said they were IN the building, a Secret Service agent said the local PD was in a different building.

• USSS Dir Kim Cheatle claimed they didn’t position an agent on the roof because it was too sloped.

• Local PD makes it clear that when USSS asked them to put someone on the building, the locals said NO. They only had enough manpower to handle traffic flow around the event. When asked to put a car in the lot, the locals again said NO. USSS would have to do it.

• FOP President Yoes warns that Cheatle needs to stop blaming the Locals, or no locals will ever work with them again.

• Sean Davis reported that night that sources had contacted him to tell him that the Trump USSS detail had been asking for more help for a long time and had been repeatedly rebuffed. His reporting was immediately denied by the USSS. Bongino also had multiple sources in the USSS reach and confirm the information; he’s been sounding the alarm on this for years. NYPost reported that the refusals were done via phone call, likely to avoid a paper trail.

• A Biden Administration National Security Official claims that the Secret Service had actually upped the security around Trump due to an Iranian plot to off him. He says that the Trump camp was warned weeks ago. The Trump campaign denies ever being told anything about an Iranian plot.

• Susan Crabtree, from RealClearPolitics, reported that Secret Service resources had been pulled from the Trump rally and sent to Jill Biden’s event across town. The Secret Service denied this as well. Then, a bunch of whistleblowers went to Sen. Josh Hawley and confirmed that Secret Service agents were backed up by untrained DHS Investigators. Sen. Chuck Grassley found evidence in emails that Trump’s large outdoor rally was only assigned THREE extra agents, while Jill’s indoor, attendance-capped dinner was granted TWELVED extra agents. Dana spoke with Rep. Jim Jordan about this yesterday, full interview:

• More whistleblowers tell Sen. Josh Hawley that there were supposed to be snipers on the roof, but they opted to be inside the building due to the heat. (These would be the State PD Snipers in the building behind the AGR building.)

• Rep. Eli Crane visited the site and demonstrated not just how un-dangerous the slope of the roof was but also how placing someone in the window of the building next to the one the shooter used would have given an agent a clear shot at preventing all of this.

• PA State PD Commissioner Colonel Christopher Paris testified before the House Homeland Security Committee. He told the congressmen that USSS only asked for 32 state PD officers, to help with moving the former president’s motorcade and securing the outer perimeter. The State PD had drones at their disposal, but USSS never asked for them. He also said that while they did not provide any police dogs for the rally, they would have if USSS had asked for them. Paris testified that there was at least one other suspicious person, and they were dealing with a lost 6-year-old at the time as well.
  
  The most interesting tidbit is that there were state PD snipers stationed in the building directly behind the AGR building, on the second floor where they would have had a sightline to the roof. However, these are the officers who leave their post to investigate the shooter after spotting him on the ground below them. By the time they got to the ground floor, he was gone, and the crowd was screaming something about the roof. One boosted the other up, so he could pull up to peak over the roof, and was met with the business end of the shooter’s weapon.
  
  This information is backed up by the body cam footage and multiple witness statements.
