This wasn’t bad policing. Police responded with lethal force because Reed made himself a lethal threat.
The shooting death of 26 year-old Dexter Reed on last month was not the fault of the Chicago police, the “system,” or anyone else but Dexter Reed.
Body camera footage released Tuesday shows Reed wearing a ski mask behind the wheel of his vehicle, refusing to comply with officer directions to roll down his window or unlock his door. Reed produced a gun and fired first, 11 shots total, wounding a black (because the left insists on radicalizing everything) officer. Police responding by firing 96 shots. It was justified. Reed brought it on himself. I don’t even need to mention at this point that Reed was a repeat offender out on pre-trial release for gun charges. Police didn’t need to know any of that before returning fire. I broke down the case on the program earlier today.
