Devon Archer Spills the Beans

The former business partner of Hunter Biden appeared in a closed session of the House Oversight Committee on Monday. According to various congressional and media sources, he confirmed much of the information we’ve already learned and exposed the President’s lies about his involvement in Hunter’s business dealings.

The House Judiciary Committee, which was part of the deposition, posted some key takeaways to Twitter:

Democratic Rep. Goldman, who got elected because of his role as a Democrat lawyer during the first Trump Impeachment, has been running to cameras all afternoon, claiming that the phone calls Hunter made over a speakerphone to his father during business meetings were nothing big, just small talk about the weather. However, Archer confirmed that Hunter’s whole business plan revolved around selling “the brand” to his clients and potential partners. Archer also clarified that his father, then the Vice-President, was “the brand.” This means the phone calls to shoot the breeze during business meetings were likely Hunter’s way of proving to everyone in the room that his father would always take his calls.

While Goldman and other democrats insist that the President had nothing to do with his son’s businesses, Archer’s testimony contradicts them. According to Archer, during a tense meeting, Hunter took aside top Burisma officials Zlochevsky and Pozharski, who were worried about an investigation into the company, to “call DC” in December 2015. A few days later, then-VP Biden was in Ukraine, demanding that the Ukrainian government do something about Prosecutor Shokin.

Another seldom-remembered tidbit to come out of this deposition - then-VP Biden had dinner with Hunter, Pozharskyi, and Yelena Baturina, the widow of a Moscow Mayor, in April 2015, a few months after Ms. Baturina dropped 3.5 million dollars into Hunter’s investment firm. That wasn’t the first time a Hunter Biden company got money from Ms. Baturina. In 2012, while Joe Biden was VP, the Russian oligarch had dumped $40 million into Rosemont Realty, a Hunter Biden real estate company. Interestingly enough, Ms. Baturina was left OFF the list of Russian Oligarchs sanctioned by the Joe Biden administration in 2022 after the start of the Ukraine/Russia war.

It is pretty clear that President Biden was playing word games when he said in 2019 that he “was never in business with his son.” Technically, Joe Biden was not in business with his son; he was the business. As Archer said in the deposition, Hunter’s job was to sell “the brand,” and Joe Biden was “the brand.”

Most of the information released thus far from the Devon Archer deposition is not new. However, Rep. Jim Jordan told the media that he had learned a lot of new information. Will it lead to charges against the Biden family? Only time will tell.
