DeSantis Hits Back: Mass Deportations, Hope Florida, and Tucker Carlson
DeSantis's attack on bureaucracy has made him a time target of Democrats and RINOs.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis joined Dana yesterday to discuss deportations, Operation Tidal Wave, Hope Florida, and reported tension with Tucker Carlson.
One of the biggest topics concerned the mass deportation of illegal immigrants in the U.S.. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Florida law enforcement agencies have arrested over 800 illegal immigrants during the first four days of Operation Tidal Wave, a massive multi-agency immigration enforcement crackdown speaking on behalf of the American people’s desire to be safe.
We asked the Governor for some insight on how he was doing with enforcing the program so far: “We're going to have more details about that later in the week, but it is the biggest deportation sweep that the federal government has done since President Trump has taken office, and it's being done in conjunction with all of Florida's state agencies as well as the relevant local agencies. And you remember when I was on your program back in January. I had called a special session of the Florida legislature to do among other things, impose a duty on all state and local agencies to not just we're not a sanctuary state we banned that my first year as Governor, but you can't just sit on your hands. You've got to actively cooperate and participate in immigration enforcement efforts and the leadership in the Florida House of Representatives rejected that.”
DeSantis explained how he is focused on stopping the crime problem the previous administration funneled into the country and doesn’t want petty politics with moderate Republicans to stall it.
