Democrats Try to Make a Holiday of J6

Not since Kwanzaa has a made-up observance turned in to such a solemn occasion, but that’s exactly what the left has done with January 6th.

The left has analogized the day to the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Holocaust, 9/11 despite just one fatality: an unarmed woman named Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed by a Capitol officer named Michael Byrd who was apparently unaware that an entire SWAT team was already standing right behind Babbitt when he shot her. Despite this, the left insists that multiple officers lost their lives that day:

To recap — no officers, zero officers, lost their lives that day. It’s the sort of officer-involved-shooting that the left loves because it involves someone whose ideology they hate.

Democrats won’t mourn officers that lose their lives due to Democrats’s own policies, but they will manufacture fake officer fatalities for their new grievance theater holiday. It’s not a convincing devotion.

Remember David Dorn? They don’t. Dorn was murdered on a livestream during a night of leftist rage in my hometown, part of the “Burn Loot Murder” summer series.

What about Officer David Lee? He was killed by a drunk-driving illegal alien.

What about the NYPD officers shot at by an illegal immigrant whose immigration case was dismissed by a judge just prior? Or the officer shot in San Antonio by a violent illegal alien allowed to stay in the U.S. due to Democrat policies? Or the California cop killed by another illegal entrant? What about the D.C. officer punched in the face by Hamas-supporting rioter? These are just a few examples.

I was live on air four years ago when a group of people nowhere near the Trump rally broke into a riot at the Capitol and covered the developments live as they happened. Since then, those who were destructive or violent were held to account (around 2/3 of the charges were for nonviolent misdemeanors) and there is more to come, apparently.

It was hyper-prosecuted because Democrats needed needed something to justify their absolution from all those fiery leftist summer riots and “defund the police” promises. They treat “J6” like a magical inoculation against accountability and the media facilitates it. The destruction at the Capitol event — different from the rally further away at the Ellipse — was bad — but it wasn’t an “insurrection.” It wasn’t an “attempted coup.” It wasn’t organized and no one was armed, except for the police.

It also wasn’t an organized, multi-year series of violent, “mostly peaceful” events around the nation all of which culminated in arson and murder.
